PostgreSQLのしくみ分科会では、以下の日程で勉強会を開催しました。

  1. PostgreSQLのパラメータ・チューニング
    概要 
     PostgreSQLのパラメータについて、どのパラメータをどのような考え方でチューニングしていけば良いか解説します。また、チューニングの効果を確認する方法についても併せて解説します。説明資料はこちらをご覧ください。

  2. plploxy + pgbouncerについて
    概要
    米国SkypeTechnologies社によって開発・提供されている、データベース間でのデータ連携を実現するツールである plproxy とpgbouncer について研修します。
    当日は、IPAオープンラボを活用したハンズオン形式を予定しております。

    ハンズオン環境は20名分ご用意しましたが、希望者がそれを超える場合は先着20名様までとさせてください(下の参加申し込みの順とします)。それを超える分は講師のデモを見ていただく聴講形式となります。

English guidance


We  took place our first seminar as follows. If you would like to attend it, we have already done the event and we cannot take any registration request at all. We are looking for your attendance to the events in the future.
  • Date: 20th June 2009, 14:00-16:00
  • Place: Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (Tokyo). 
  • Theme: We will have two topics (All lecture is given in Japanes).
    1. Parameter Tuning of PostgreSQL
      Overview
       Explain how to tune PostgreSQL via parameters; which parameter should be tuned for which purpose and what ideas are behind. In this lecture, we will learn the overview of parameter tuning.

    2. How to use plproxy and pgbouncer
      Overview
      Plproxy and pgbouncer are tools for Data transfer between dabatase systems, which are developed and published the by Skype Technologies S.A. In this lecture, presentation will be given as 'hands on' style where the audiences operate plproxy and pgbouncer running on the virtuam machines that is provided by IPA open-lab.
      Caution
      In spite of IPA open-lab's generous provision, we have only 20 enviroments (virtual machines)  for the hans-on. If we have more than 20 participants for the lecuture, we will provide the enviroment with first come first serve basis according to the registration order shown below. Please be hurry to regist!
